I wonder if an image really needs of being commented indeed. Can the words increase the value of a pure visual work? I have immortalized these Cotton Grass during an excursion in the Park of the Avic Mount in Val D'Aosta. It was a cold and humid day of September (many would say a bad one) and often I was wrapped by low clouds. And if I was thousand kilometers Easter or northern, what would have been changed? Who watches this photography would be more impressed if he knew that I had boots and the tripod in the water and that the wind moved continuously the exiles flowers and rippled the water, vanishing the mirror effect that I wanted to obtain? Indeed I like that everyone interprets the image on its own way, without being influenced from subtitles, comments or titles. The main gift of a photographer is not perhaps to get to communicate a message, to transmit an emotion through a simple bi-dimensional support? Don't you have to isolate yourself completely from the surrounding atmosphere, without being influenced from sounds, smells and climatic conditions? Does it have importance to know which camera and objective I have used? Is expensive photographic equipment the only element to obtain worth releases? Or are not more important the light, the framing, the subject, the background, etc? However I have patiently waited for the best moment and here you can see the result.
